Little John’s House not only provides year long care for 6 young adults and holds an annual Summer School, it also aims to support other disadvantaged children and young adults in the local community.
Christmas visits
Each Christmas several volunteers from England brave the snowy conditions in Romania, dress up as Father Christmas and visit the homes of local disabled and disadvantaged children. Often the children visited are the same children that attend the Summer School, as we believe it is important to keep in contact with them throughout the year. Local hospitals and orphanages are also visited, providing the children with gifts. The volunteers then hold a party for some of these outreach children at Little John’s House.
family visits
Another key aspect of the outreach support is visiting the families of the 6 young adults at the home and visiting those that have been reintegrated from Little John’s House back into their families. We have contact with most families and visit them at least once a year.
