Organiser of the Copathlon, Andy Coppins, who has been to Little John’s House as a volunteer on the Summer School, writes:
To celebrate my 40th birthday, which is during the 2012 London Olympics, I decided to organise a fundraising campaign! Inspired by the Olympics theme and memories of Daley Thompson, I thought I would organise a series of fundraising events – and so the Cop-athlon was created. It will take place during my 40th year, from August 2011 to Aug 2012. The Cop-athlon consists of 10 events loosely based on the 10 Decathlon events – some very loosely! They are a mixture of activities from the physically demanding to the fun, so hopefully people will be able to find one they can support in some way! Through the Copathlon I am hoping to raise £10,000 towards three charities, two local to Nottinghamshire and the third being Little John’s House. Have a look at the website for more information http://www.copathlon.org.uk People will be donating directly to Little John’s House through the sponsored activities, and LJH will also recieve a proportion of the event ticket costs at the end of the year. Please follow the progress of the Copathlon and the fundraising, as the year progresses through the website.
