The ‘Vodafone Foundation’s World of Difference’ programme is designed to allow individuals, with a passion to help a charity, to spend a year with their chosen cause. One of the Little John’s House Trustees, Beth Yorath, is one such individual. Since her first visit in 2002, Beth has worked tirelessly to support LJH, running many of the the Father Christmas visits in December and leading Summer School weeks to assist Mags. After applying, being shortlisted and then interviewed, Beth was chosen as one of the 8 winners for the 2010 round of the programme!
She is now in Romania working for Little john’s House, and will remain with the charity for a year to develop a range new initiatives; ultimately, Beth would like to set-up a home for young adults, into which LJH can feed and which will prolong the care for our otherwise vulnerable youngsters.
Having been learning Romanian for the past three years at a language school in her spare time, and having built up a good base of local contacts, Beth is in a great position to spearhead the charity’s desires and dreams.
Beth is writing a blog, which is availaible on the ‘Vodafone World of Difference’ website at the following link: http://worldofdifference.vodafone.co.uk/international/beth-yorath/ In these pages, we will be showing some of the developments Beth has made, so watch this space!
