Our most recent arrival, Vlad has undergone a major transformation since he came to Little Johns House. Vlad had been in orphanages all of his life. He arrived as a frightened and frustrated boy who was unable to eat solid food due to having two holes in the roof of his mouth. As a result of this discomfort, he spent a lot of time screaming or self-harming. Our staff were not trained in dealing with this but he was shown love and patience resulting in an incredible turn-around.
In 2013, Vlad received surgical treatment on his cleft palate to close the holes in the roof of his mouth, funded by money raised through volunteer efforts.
Now he is fully settled into the home with an amazing quality of life. He proves to be one of the most laid back and happy young men. Vlad has made huge improvements in his communication over the years, helping him to be the cheeky lad he is today always providing comical entertainment!
